Responsible Blogging 2013

Previously, I blogged about the Wall of Pledge for Responsible Blogging. Feel free to read it here. Cheers! :)

"Responsible Blogging 2013 is a campaign calling upon the entire online community in Malaysia to rally for and support an ethical climate in the blogosphere for our mutual benefit."

There are a total of 9 pillars of Responsible Blogging.

1. Avoid Shortcut
Obviously, shortcut is not the best way to success. Success can be achieved through how much efforts you put into. So, put more efforts in your blog. Blog responsibly, and your readers will be able to see and appreciate your effort put into your blog.

2. Do Check The Verify of Your Information
You, represents your blog. And your blog represents you. Remember, wrong information in your blog will tarnish your credibility greatly. Eventually, the number of your blog visitors will drop as they do not believe the information found from your blog anymore.

3. Do Regard Your Readers' Opinions
No matter how strongly you hold onto a certain opinion, remember that there are other people who treasure their opinions like you too. P.S  Always blog with an open mind.

4. Do Be Aware of The Country's Copyright Law
Remember, do not copy, paste and publish content that are not your original ideas.

5. Don't Forget to Give Credits
If you share contents from other owners, do not forget to credit the rightful owner.

6. Do Know That You're Answerable for Your Blog
You might get carried away while blogging about an issue, but should when wrong information (by accident) was given, just apologize. Plus, it saves you the time and effort in defensing later.

7. Be Transparent with Sponsored Posts
Of course, you do not want to be branded as an ambassador for a certain company because you talk about that brand when you write sponsored post every time. P.S Be flexible and be friend to all.

8. Do Write A Disclaimer
You might get carried away with your strong opinions about an issue. However, if you work for an organization, it is better to include a disclaimer to protect you and the company.

9. Get Rewarded / Paid Ethically
You, as a blogger are ought to get rewarded in many ways but you are encouraged to get rewarded in ethical manner. Crowdpot provides the by far the most ethical approach to any sponsored blogpost. Do check out thumb-tipping.
